Electric Run

Electric Run

Usually I stay away from any sort of marathon related activities. I can run for a short distance, but anything more than 5km is a huge stretch for me. So, imagine my surprise when I found out that the electric run was only 5km!! I feel like it is the universe telling me to participate 😉 It also helps that this happens to be the coolest track I have ever seen in.my.life. Electric Run happens all over the world, so you should check out if it is going on in your city! It is like a big glow in the dark, trippy, neon explosion. At the end of the run is a hugeee party with a light show and dj. It may be the best reason to exercise that I have ever been given. I cannot wait for registration to open! This perfectly combines my love of partying with my slight fondness for exercise/being in shape.

Island hopping

Island hopping

I realize that the term island hopping is probably rarely associated with The Netherlands, but it is definitely something amazing to check out! I went with a group of friends to an island called Texel, in Den Helder. We decided to seize the opportunity of a sunny day, and go off on an adventure. Den Helder is about an hour and forty five minutes away from Amsterdam by train, so it is a decently quick journey, and it is a must see if you come to visit Holland. We took a ferry to Texel and spent the day strolling the beach along the North Sea and climbing the paths through the hills. I have never been to Ireland, but Texel lined up with my idea of what Ireland looks like. We had lunch at a little cafe over looking the water, and it was such a magical experience. I will be returning in summer when the beaches will be a little more full and I can stroll along with an ice cream 🙂 I definitely consider Texel a must see!!

Milan, mio amore.

Milan, mio amore.

I visited Milan with one of my close friends from school, and I was instantly a smitten kitten. Seriously though, what is not to love? Amazing food, people and fashion. I really felt like I fed my soul while I was visiting. It was only a short adventure, and I am committed to going back in spring, but I soaked up every minute of it. My pants didn’t fit me quite as well upon my return, but every bite of pizza, pasta and panzerotti was more than worth it 😉 I look forward to adventuring through the rest of Italy, I think I blend very well with the Italians. Give me a dark espresso, a big plate of food and warm company and I couldn’t be happier. Im so glad I could scratch milan off of my bucket list, but I still have lots of adventures left to complete!
