Decisions decisions decisions

I am still waiting to find out if I have been accepted to graduate school. The waiting is driving me a tinsy bit mad. Either I am continuing on with my schooling/traveling/living the good life, or, I am getting down to the work grind. I think the most daunting issue is that I have no clue what I want to do. I seem to be under the belief that I will be swept up by a moment of clarity, while at school, and I will suddenly become aware of my career path. However, in actuality, I know it is just a way to stall going into the real world. Perhaps I could take a career aptitude test, like in the movies, and I will be given the perfect job, based on my skills! I’m not actually sure that career tests work that way though 😦  For now a doom cloud floats above my ahead, and it will either rain on my parade, or make way for the sun. *sigh*

Surf and turf

Surf and turf

My family friends and I, recently returned from a trip to Kauai. While we were there, it seemed obligatory that we had some surfing lessons. I don’t mean to brag, but I was actually pretty decent! I think that stemmed from my many years as a snow boarder. However, I will say, I was a little bit terrified before getting in the water. Firstly, the tide was super high, which meant that at any moment you could be swept into a huge wave. Also, I have a constant fear that at any moment while in the ocean, I will be eaten by sharks… (yes i’m irrational) With this being said, the moment I hit the water, all my fears vanished. All I could focus on was trying to get on my board, and how much fun I was having. It is amazing how much we are able to psych ourselves out before trying something new. The best feeling was sitting on my board and realizing that I was completely at ease. Whether or not I had stood up on my board, was almost irrelevant compared to the feeling of success of mastering my fears. I definitely need to get on the surfing bandwagon. Too bad Toronto isn’t exactly the best surf spot. I guesssss I just havee to go back to Hawaii, what a shame!

Vegabond

Vegabond

Just got back from my first trip to Vegas. I had the best time! I don’t know why I was never interested in going to Vegas, but I was so off about not wanting to go. I went with 5 girl friends, and maybe it was just the fact that I had a great group with me, but it was so.much.fun. I ate the most delicious food, partied all night, and sunbathed all day. I mean, what is not to love? It was relaxing and intense all that the same time. I think the unique thing about Vegas is the vibe there. It is so positive! Literally, everyone is there to have a blast. It really makes it so warm and inviting. I highly recommend going if you are just on the fence about it. You will have the time of your life, with the right people 😉

Ray-Ban fever

Ray-Ban fever

I don’t know what it is about sunglasses, but I have a serious love hate relationship with them. I really love being able to throw on a pair of glasses, and instantly feel a chic tone to my look; however, I hate the weight of sunglasses on my face.

I have found that Ray-Bans offer a great selection of lightweight glasses. My boyfriend picked out this style (Erika), and I think they may be a winner. Traditional and flirty. I just hope that they are as light on my face as they look in the picture. Side note about Ray-Ban, you can “virtually” try on a pair of glasses on their website. If you have a webcam, it will show your face, and give you the experience of putting on the glasses without actually making a trip to a sunglasses store. Pretty neat!
